Calming Room Proposal
I have created a 2D and 3D replica of a "calming room" I believe students can benefit from on college campuses.
What Is a "Calming Room"?
As I was brainstorming what to discuss in terms of relating the environment to mental health, I thought about how many college campuses could develop a "calming room" where students can go to relax if they're having a bad mental health day or need a place to relax their minds. Yes, the library is a quiet place to go on campus but many libraries consist of people doing homework or checking out books. The "calming room" can be a place to relax and forget about schoolwork for the time being (unless you want to do schoolwork of course). This room will also be special in terms of its dedication to mental health. Read on to view its dedication and why many students could benefit from it.

View
The measurements for the room through the computer are as shown. In regards to if it were to actually be built, it will have to fit the size of where it will be located. As you can see from this view, it's a minimalist set-up but enough to make it comfortable. The room is set up in two different areas, both for relaxation and distressing either alone or with friends.
Elements
As shown, the walls and carpet are green. Scientifically, green is one of the top calmest colors to reduce stress. The minimalist design is set up to be comfortable and not overwhelming with decor. Regarding the survey I sent, many wrote about how they like the sound of the birds and streams, the feeling of the sun, and the fresh smells.
There could be surround sound with a soft, constant sound of birds chirping and streams flowing to make it feel as though you're sitting outside. The large window in the first room will be able to bring in natural sunlight and warmth to the room while also being able to view the beautiful campus outside the window during all seasons. The second room is the option for anyone wanting a more enclosed, darker room. There will be lights, but they won't contain the natural sunlight. As for the smell, there could be air fresheners or wallflowers of natural scents also to enhance the natural, calming feel the room is meant for.
Room
1
Room 1 is the room you enter in. It contains a U-shaped couch that people can sit and relax on. Depending on the size of the room, there will be more seating available for anyone wanting to utilize the room. The goal of the room is to not be overfilled with people but to have there be enough seating if someone needs to utilize it. This is an area where people can come to socialize to take their minds off things or quietly work on things surrounded with anti-anxiety colors and aspects.
Room
2
Although this room looks similar to the first room, it is a little different. This room doesn't have any windows so it'll contain more lamp lighting and a quiet environment. There's a drop-down screen for students to use as well as an area in the corner for snacks to be for students to enjoy.
